Liverpool Pre-Season Return Dates Confirmed for Victor Munoz, Alisson Becker and Alexis Mac Allister

Liverpool now have clarity on three important return dates, and that matters. Pre-season is short, the margin for error is smaller than clubs like to admit, and Andoni Iraola has been direct about what comes next for Victor Munoz, Alisson Becker and Alexis Mac Allister.

The headline is simple. Munoz joins up next week, Alisson is back from day one when the squad returns to Merseyside, and Mac Allister will report later, closer to the Monaco friendly. That is the schedule, and there is logic behind all of it.

Iraola explained that Munoz, fresh from winning the World Cup with Spain, is already keen to get moving. “Yes, he comes next week. We spoke to him and he wanted also to come a little bit earlier than the three weeks that they have the right to have, because obviously he is coming to a new club, he will need some time to adapt, to meet his teammates. We will have him next week as soon as we arrive there, basically. It’s also good news.”

Victor Munoz arrival gives Liverpool a head start

That is exactly what Liverpool need from a new signing. No drama, no delay, no unnecessary noise. Munoz understands the situation. New club, new teammates, new demands. Reporting early helps him close the gap quickly.

Adaptation is not a buzzword. It is the job. Every extra session matters, particularly for a player arriving after an international summer and stepping into a squad still adjusting to a new head coach. Munoz getting through the door next week gives Iraola more time to work on positioning, rhythm and relationships on the pitch.

Alisson Becker ready as pre-season work resumes

Alisson’s return looks far more straightforward. Iraola said, “Yes, Alisson will be there from the first day. He was arriving to AXA a little bit later than Cody [Gakpo] and Virgil [van Dijk]. But he will be [there] since the first day that we arrive and will start training there in Liverpool.”

For Liverpool, that is a significant boost. Goalkeepers need routine, defenders need the goalkeeper behind them, and pre-season shape work depends on that spine being in place. Alisson arriving immediately gives the staff stability in one of the few areas where there is no need for experimentation.

Alexis Mac Allister given time after World Cup run

Mac Allister is the one who waits. Iraola said, “And Alexis will have, I think, until the Monaco game. I think deserved holidays for him; long season, long World Cup, played until the final, has played a lot of minutes. I hope he comes fully recovered and he enjoys also the break that he definitely has earned.”

That is a sensible call. He has had a heavy workload and there is no prize for dragging a midfielder back too early in July and paying for it in August.

Liverpool’s immediate focus is now on using the remaining friendlies properly. As noted in the club update, Iraola sees the next three weeks as valuable working time. He put it plainly: “Yes, now it’s not so far, it’s three weeks. We have two or three friendlies, three if we count the double against Como. And then it starts.” He added, “The more information, the more things we can correct before we start, it’s going to be much better.”

That is the point of pre-season. Gather information, fix problems, start ready.
