Vinícius Júnior is repeatedly linked to a possible departure from Real Madrid. FC Bayern has also recently been mentioned as a potential suitor. According to BILD soccer editor Christian Falk, however, there is no truth to the speculation.
Vinícius Júnior’s future is currently making headlines. Since contract negotiations between the Brazilian national team player and Real Madrid are reportedly at a standstill, rumors of a possible transfer are circulating. Bayern Munich has also been mentioned as a potential suitor.
However, BILD’s head of soccer, Christian Falk, clearly refutes these speculations. The transfer expert made it clear: It is not true that FC Bayern Munich has Vinícius Júnior on its list this summer in the event that the Brazilian seeks a move away from Real Madrid.
Falk is responding to reports suggesting that the Munich club is closely monitoring the winger’s situation. In his assessment, however, a transfer of the 26-year-old is out of the question.
Falk cites both financial and sporting factors as the main reasons. “Yes, of course a player like the 26-year-old would look really good in FC Bayern Munich’s roster, but that’s definitely not going to happen! Bayern Munich won’t pay the salary, and with Harry Kane, Michael Olise, Luis Díaz, Jamal Musiala, and now Ismael Saibari, the club already has a complete attacking lineup.”

From the perspective of Bayern’s management, the offense in particular is already exceptionally well-staffed. Currently, there is absolutely no need for another star attacker. Falk therefore sums up the record champion’s stance: “With all due respect: There’s simply no room for a player like Vini Jr.”
In addition to sporting considerations, the transfer expert also points to the club’s philosophy: “I also have to say that FC Bayern Munich has always been somewhat cautious when it comes to players who could negatively impact the atmosphere in the locker room. That was also the case with Cristiano Ronaldo, because it’s not just about the enormous salaries, but also about the impact on team culture.”
Falk cites Harry Kane as a positive counterexample: “FC Bayern, for instance, is a club that’s a good fit for Harry Kane, since the Englishman is a team player through and through—and that’s exactly what FC Bayern Munich values.”
