Ismael Díaz hat-trick in Panama’s win over Jamaica

AUSTIN, Texas – The 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup continued with Panama earning a 4-1 win against Jamaica in Group C on Tuesday at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, USA.
Ismael Díaz placed Panama in front in the 4’ with a left-footed shot from outside the box to capitalize on a corner kick opportunity.
Díaz struck again in the 17’ with a left-footed shot from the left side of the box.
Amari'i Bell cut the deficit for Jamaica in the 27’ with a header in front of goal to meet a service into the box from Dexter Lembikisa.
Ismael Díaz converted from the penalty spot in the 45’, with a right-footed shot to the bottom right corner, to place Panama back up by two and collect his hat-trick.
Tomás Rodríguez added a fourth goal for Panama in the 89’, striking a right-footed attempt following a fast break, to place a bow on the victory.
The victory completes a perfect start for Panama with a 3-0-0 mark in the Group Stage. Los Canaleros advance to the Knockout Stage as the first-place team from Group C, awaiting to face the second-place team from Group B in the Quarterfinals.
Jamaica completes its participation in the 2025 edition with a 1-0-2 record and three points as third place in the group.

Ismael Díaz became the first player from the Panama national team to score 3 goals in the first half in Gold Cup history, and the seventh player from any national team to achieve this feat.
