Israel Reyes’ name continues to orbit around Roma ahead of next season.
The Club América center-back, born in 2000, has been among the Giallorossi’s top prospects in recent weeks and has recently been reportedly spotted in the capital.
During today’s press conference, the Mexican defender discussed his future, including the possibility of a European move.
Reyes explained that he’s interested in both Spain and Italy, but isn’t closing any doors on upcoming professional opportunities. “It would be incredible to play for Barcelona, but going to Italy would also be a great opportunity. Johan (Vásquez of Genoa) has had a great time there, and I’m open to whatever’s best for me. I don’t want to say I want to stay in one place, because that would mean closing myself off from other opportunities. I’m confident that, if my dream comes true, it will be in the best place for my career.”
The Club América center-back then commented on the characteristics of the Italian league, emphasizing how Serie A could be a useful stepping stone for his technical and physical growth.
“Italy is a very competitive and physical league, and this would help me improve. I’m working on many things and I’m confident in doing what’s best for my career. Now I’m preparing for the World Cup, which is my main goal. We’ll see what happens after that.”
