Issa Diop earns first Morocco call-up, Ayyoub Bouaddi left out amid uncertainty | OneFootball

Issa Diop has received his first Morocco call-up at 29, as new head coach Mohamed Ouahbi names a 28-player squad to face Ecuador and Paraguay.

According to L'Équipe, Morocco play Ecuador on 27 March in Madrid and Paraguay on 31 March in Lens. Lille’s Ayyoub Bouaddi is omitted as he remains undecided over his international future, with France still a possibility.

The Fulham defender bolsters a back line reshaped by Romain Saïss’s international retirement and the absence of Nayef Aguerd with pubalgia.

Regulars Yassine Bounou, Achraf Hakimi, Neil El Aynaoui and Brahim Diaz are included. Strasbourg pair Gessime Yassine and Samir El Mourabet step up to the seniors. Ligue 1’s Yassir Zabiri, a U20 world champion, also earns a first call.

Further selections include Noussair Mazraoui, Bilal El Khanouss, Ismael Saibari, Abde Ezzalzouli, Ayoub El Kaabi, Soufiane Rahimi, Amine Adli, Chemsedine Talbi and Chadi Riad.
