Inter Milan’s emphatic 4-0 win over Como briefly returned the Nerazzurri to the top of the Serie A table, but Cristian Chivu made clear afterwards that he is not getting carried away.
The Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, underlined the coach’s perfectionist streak, noting how he quickly shifted the focus from the scoreline to the details that still need polishing.
Chivu admitted he enjoyed parts of the performance but refused to dwell on the highlight-reel goals.
“We could have done better,” he said in the mixed zone, adding that if he had to pick something he liked most, “I wouldn’t choose any of the four goals, even if the third one, Calhanoglu’s, really struck me. I choose the attitude again, against a team I described as ‘annoying’.”

The win briefly moved Inter top, but Chivu claimed not to care about the standings.
Whether bluff or genuine focus, the coach preferred to emphasise collective spirit rather than league position.
He also stepped in to shield his players from excessive scrutiny, especially after the strong display from Luis Henrique.
“Now we can stop asking about them,” he said when quizzed again about the wide options. “They’re good players and they’ve shown it.”
Chivu highlighted the variety in Inter’s goals and the determination behind them, pointing to the third strike.
“This Inter scores in every way – but especially with heart and soul, like Barella showed in that move,” he noted.
Yet even on a four-goal night, the coach stressed control and game management. “We could have handled it better. We did it the way we wanted in the second half,” he said, pleased with how Inter resisted Como’s best spell before pulling away.
