La Gazzetta dello Sport awarded Chivu a rating of 7, highlighting the bravery of his early decision.

“It’s never easy to substitute a player in the first half,” the paper noted, via L’Interista.

“But the team comes first. Replacing Luis Henrique with Dimarco was decisive in fixing the match. The second half was a spectacle.”

A similar assessment came from Corriere dello Sport, which also handed Chivu a 7.

“He turns the match around thanks to his substitutions after a senseless opening,” the paper wrote, while adding that defending on corners “still raises some doubts.”

Tuttosport went even further, rating the Inter coach 7.5 and underlining the timing of the change.

“Taking off Luis Henrique immediately, without waiting for half-time, was a courageous move,” the Turin-based daily explained.

“Bold in its timing, and winning.”

The consensus extended beyond the three main papers.

TMW gave Chivu a 7, while L’Interista settled on a 6.5, reflecting broad approval of his handling of the match.
