Davide Frattesi is facing criticism for a lack of impact in his start for Inter Milan against Roma in yesterday’s Serie A loss.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, argue that the 25-year-old was lacklustre.
Davide Frattesi started for Inter Milan against Roma yesterday.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was serving a one-match suspension for the Serie A clash.
Therefore, the responsibility fell to Frattesi to hold down Inter’s midfield trio.
It was a key opportunity for the former Sassuolo midfielder to demonstrate that he can have a big role to play in the Nerazzurri starting eleven.

But in the view of Tuttosport, it was a chance to impress that Davide Frattesi squandered.
The Italian international seemed to find the back of the net early on. However, his goal was disallowed for an offside by Marko Arnautovic who played him in.
After that, there was little to say about Frattesi’s performance.
The 25-year-old was not nearly present enough in the physical battle against Roma’s midfielder.
That was certainly a big part of the reason for Inter looking extremely open throughout much of the first half.
And in possession, it was simply a sloppy display by Frattesi.
As Inter started to dominate the ball, the Italian international offered little of note that would have caused problems for the Roma backline.
