Italy U21: Squad for friendly against Albania official | OneFootball

Italy have named a 23-man squad for the Under-21 side’s friendly against Albania on June 8, though many of the usual players are with the senior team.

As Italy currently do not have a coach following Gennaro Gattuso’s resignation, they have temporarily promoted Under-21 boss Silvio Baldini as interim CT.

He called up numerous young players for the upcoming friendly tests against Greece and Luxembourg.

In turn, Under-20 coach Carmine Nunziata is bumped up to the Under-21 bench for the friendly against Albania on June 8.

It allows him to promote several talents from the Under-20 and Under-19 sides to the Under-21 level.

They include nine players born in 2006, and Cristian Cama in 2007, who was in the Under-17 European Championship winning side of 2024.

Familiar faces include Fiorentina’s Niccolò Fortini, Milan-owned midfielder Kevin Zeroli, and Sampdoria starlet Simone Pafundi.
