Italy will host Norway at San Siro in 2026 World Cup qualifier

Italy will play their final 2026 World Cup qualifying match against Norway at San Siro on November 16, it has been confirmed.
The Azzurri are in Group I and already playing catch-up to leaders Norway, along with Israel, Estonia and Moldova.
Only the group winners go through automatically to the 2026 World Cup, whereas the runners-up will enter the play-offs.

They Nazionale started with a 3-0 defeat in Oslo, followed by a 2-0 victory over Moldova, but have since sacked coach Luciano Spalletti.
New boss Gennaro Gattuso will get his debut on September 5 against Estonia in Bergamo, followed by a meeting with Israel on neutral turf in Debrecen, Hungary, on September 8.
They play Estonia in Tallinn on October 11, host Israel at the Stadio Friuli in Udine on October 14, visit Moldova on November 13 and conclude the group with a head-to-head against Norway at San Siro on November 16.
Italy have played 63 official matches in Milan and had gone unbeaten here for 96 years, until losing 2-1 to Spain in October 2021.
Their most recent game at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza was a Nations League quarter-final defeat to Germany on March 20, 2025.
