Liverpool are lining up a genius move to replace Mo Salah.
The end is night. The Reds' Egyptian King announced he is abdicating his throne and now Liverpool must find his successor.
But unlike in the old days when a king was replaced by another king, Liverpool are abdicating the monarchy all together and forming a coalition.
Yes, you cannot replace Salah. Well, not with another player.
You can replace him in the aggregate, and you would argue Liverpool have already started doing that over the last six months.
Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak are part of the equation. Yan Diomande is likely going to be part of those equations as well. He is the one who Liverpool are targeting the most.
But he's not the only player on the club's radar, and it is right to target more than just one winger or attacker.
Salah wasn’t just a goalscorer at Liverpool. He was a constant threat on the right-wing, he created chances and he made things happen.
He had the ability to constantly be in the right areas around the box and create disruptions in the opposition's defensive shape.
Salah created chances, too. He was an elite creator, and that is why it's essential Liverpool also bring in an elite creator on the wing.
Liverpool will still need to replace that impact. They will need to bring in a creator who can offer that extra threat from the wide areas.
But who might that be?
Some may say, it's Michael Olise, but let's not pretend we are in a dream. Bayern Munich will not entertain offers for him.
There's another player though who has long been on Liverpool's radar and who makes a lot of sense.
His name is Magnes Akliouche.
On paper, his numbers may not seem like much, but there’s a lot more to Akliouche than meets the eye.
He’s not going to score a crazy amount of goals, but he is going to get into the right areas in the opposition’s final third to penetrate defensive lines.
Akliouche is the type of player who thrives in and around the edge of the penalty area - just like Salah. He showcased this during his recent outing for France, getting himself an assist against Colombia on Sunday night.
The youngster can make brilliant runs to find himself in space and he’s an excellent connector between the attack and the midfield.

Importantly, he loves to create chances. Whether it’s supplying the box with crosses or making cut-backs from the byline, Akliouche is the type of facilitator who would bring out the best in Isak and Ekitike.
His technical qualities are simply sublime. His first touch is exquisite and he can really dictate the dynamics of the game. When he's going up against players in one vs one situations, he's hard to stop.
On top of that, he’s also a hard-worker, ranking in the top 10 Ligue 1 players for possession won in the final third (1.10 per 90 minutes).
His ability to be constantly moving and press opposition defences is what makes him the most ideal fit for Liverpool.
have been linked with him recently. They were also linked with him at the end of last season.
So, there may be legs to this move.
