Ivana Fuso earns extended starting run for Corinthians in new role | OneFootball

Ivana Fuso is on a six-game starting run for Corinthians in a new right-back role. Friday's 2-0 win over Grêmio in the ninth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro Feminino at Estádio Francisco Novelletto in Rio Grande do Sul marked her sixth straight start.

She has been increasingly involved since coach Emily Lima took charge on 24 February. According to Meu Timao, the 25-year-old has been redeployed on the right of defence. She has also been selected ahead of Gi Fernandes, who began the year under Lucas Piccinato.

In that match she scored and impressed, winning five duels, making one clearance and one interception, and she was not dribbled.

This is her longest starting streak for the club, beginning with a 5-1 win over Red Bull Bragantino on 3 April at the Fazendinha. It continued with a 2-1 defeat to Kansas City Current on 9 April in the Teal Rising Cup semi-final, then an 8-0 win over América do México three days later for third place.

She then featured in a 1-0 win at Juventude on 20 April at Estádio Montanha dos Vinhedos and a 3-1 defeat of Ferroviária on 24 April, before the triumph against Grêmio.

Signed midway through last season after a spell in Europe, most recently with Birmingham City, her debut was delayed by work visa issues. Under Lucas Piccinato in 2025 she played 17 matches, totalling 705 minutes, about 42 per game.

Her Corinthians tally is 28 matches, with 20 wins, four draws and four defeats, plus four goals, three assists and the 2025 Libertadores Feminina title. Corinthians host São Paulo at 21:30 on Thursday at the Fazendinha to open the 2026 Campeonato Paulista.
