The League Two season is almost upon us, and it promises to be one of the most unpredictable campaigns in recent memory.

Last term, Bromley stunned the division by lifting the title and securing back-to-back promotions, having risen from the National League the season prior.

Salford City, who have gone close to promotion in recent years, have been backed this summer, but can they finally reach the third tier?

With the new League Two season fast approaching, I have predicted how the final table will look come May from bottom to top.

Things look pretty bleak for Newport County after the sudden departure of Christian Fuchs, and with rookie boss Hayden Mullins in charge to pick up the pieces, it could be a long season.

Fuchs did a stellar job in turning around Newport's fortunes last term, but I expect them to finish bottom following this summer's drama.

With Colin Kazim-Richards in charge, I fear for Crawley Town next season after avoiding the drop by a single point last term.

Their squad has undergone a major overhaul this summer, and I feel like it will be a big ask for the 39-year-old to avoid the drop.

Cheltenham Town are among the favourites for the drop, but I think they will have just enough about them to survive relegation.

Steve Cotterill took over early last season and guided the club to an 18th-placed finish and would be disappointed if they fall further down the table.

Shrewsbury Town endured a horror start to their 2025/26 campaign and will want to avoid the same fate under Gavin Cowan.

The Shrews could pull a surprise given the influx of arrivals, but they have not shown anything to suggest they will make significant progress.

Accrington Stanley were unconvincing last season, and I believe they will endure a similar tale under manager John Doolan.

Survival will be the aim for the club yet again, but if they do not start the campaign strongly, then they could get dragged into a relegation battle.

Tranmere Rovers lingered above the relegation zone last season, and I think there will be a slight improvement under Darrell Clarke.

His managerial record is mixed, but he has experience at some reputable EFL clubs and the club do have some intriguing signings in Tom Ince and Harrison Male.

It promises to be another bottom-half finish for Fleetwood Town, who are set to enter their third successive season in the division following their nine-year stay in League One.

Matt Lawlor has a full pre-season under his belt as manager, but they lack the quality to push higher up the table.

Exeter City may have only just been relegated from League One, but the way they finished last season was quite frankly alarming.

The Grecians won just one of their last 18 league games, and new boss Matt Taylor has a big job on his hands to stop the rot.

Rochdale arrive in League Two off the back of their dramatic play-off final win over Boreham Wood but without long-serving manager Jimmy McNulty, who has taken the reins at Stockport County.

Promoted teams tend to do well in the fourth tier, and Ian Watson would be chuffed if he could finish in 16th.

However, if Lee Bell can avoid a late-season collapse, then they have every chance to finish in the top half.
