A key member of Manchester City’s historic 2022-23 treble-winning season, Jack Grealish has penned an emotional message to his departing manager at the club.
Grealish starred for the Blues as they swept all in front of them en route to a historic treble, winning the Premier League, lifting the FA Cup after beating Manchester United in the final and edging Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League final in Istanbul.
After a debut season that saw him struggle for regular minutes as he adapted to life under Pep Guardiola, Grealish went from strength to strength in the following campaign and was a regular fixture of City’s starting XI following the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The 30-year-old, who joined City for a club-record £100 million from Aston Villa in 2021, went on to play an indispensable role in the treble run-in, scoring crucial goals against Arsenal, Liverpool and started every UEFA Champions League knockout tie en route to glory in Istanbul.
Grealish struggled for minutes and consistency in the following seasons, falling down the pecking order and deciding to join Everton on loan for the recent campaign ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Ahead of his appearance at Manchester City’s Co-op farewell to Guardiola on Monday, Grealish penned an emotional message to the Catalan, who has recently departed his role as City boss.
Accompanied by a series of photos on Instagram, Jack Grealish: “Pep, the greatest to ever do it. Thank you for bringing me to Manchester City!
“I have enjoyed every moment of working with you, learning from you and winning with you. Thank you for the all the advice you gave me over the years and all the times that you helped me especially through my darker times. It really means everything!
“Good luck with your future for you and your family.”

Grealish made an impressive start to his loan spell at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, flourishing with a new lease of life under David Moyes before his season was ended when he suffered a foot stress fracture in January.
The Birmingham-born attacker is expected to hold talks with incoming Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca upon the confirmation of the latter as Guardiola’s replacement.
While Everton are understood to be keen on signing the Englishman permanently, Maresca will discuss reviving Grealish’s career at the Etihad Stadium following Guardiola’s departure.
As things stand, Grealish is due to report for Manchester City pre-season training in July after being omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the FIFA World Cup.
