The former Gunners midfielder has been in charge at Kenilworth Road since October and won the EFL Trophy in his first campaign.

Luton finished a point outside the play-off positions so will remain in League One next season and Wilshere is looking to bolster his squad for a promotion push.

The former England international spent two years as the Arsenal Under-18s head coach and gave Max Dowman his debut for the academy side as a 13-year-old.

Arsenal are likely to keep Dowman with the club next term rather than sending him out on loan to develop, but they did allow Ethan Nwaneri to join Marseille in January for the rest of the season.

Asked on talkSPORT whether he would want to sign either Dowman or Nwaneri on loan for Luton, Wilshere laughed and said: "The answer to that is yes!

"Whoever (Arsenal manager) Mikel [Arteta] doesn't want, I'll just call him and ask him."

A key reason for Arsenal sending him to France was to develop under Roberto De Zerbi, but the Italian head coach left shortly after Nwaneri's arrival and is now in charge at Tottenham.

Nwaneri has had his commitment questioned by new Marseille head coach Habib Beye and the teenager has not started a match since early February.

Wilshere insisted that loan will still have been beneficial for Nwaneri, giving him lessons both on and off the pitch.

The former Arsenal midfielder is keen to make the most of the loan system at Luton and brought Manchester City winger Emilio Lawrence to the club for the second half of this season.

Wilshere is now looking at some of the stars at Arsenal's Hale End, where he still has strong relationships.

"Obviously I was in the academy and I've got a good link there," Wilshere said.

"The loans manager and the staff there. I'm always in contact with them to see because I know a couple of them. We're always keeping eyes on them.

"Loans are really good at this level for both parties. For us because they add quality - there's a reason that they're at Manchester City or Arsenal - but also for their development."
