Jair Monteiro leaves Benfica for Feirense in permanent move after 12 seasons | OneFootball

Benfica have agreed the permanent transfer of Jair Monteiro to Feirense. According to Glorioso 1904, the deal was concluded on Friday, ending his 12-season stay, and means Monteiro, like António Silva, is no longer a Benfica player.

Monteiro, 19, leaves after completing almost all of his development in red and white. He joined in 2014/15 from Portimonense to the under-nines at Benfica’s training base in Faro.

In 2018 he moved to the Benfica Campus in Seixal, progressing through the ranks towards the senior set-up. Last season he played for the under-23s, making 25 appearances and scoring five goals, form that drew Feirense’s interest.

During his time in the academy he won two national titles. He was part of the side that lifted the Campeonato Nacional de Juvenis in 2022/23, then the Campeonato Nacional de Juniores in 2024/25.

The switch gives Monteiro the chance to compete in the II Liga and continue his development. It also registers another outgoing for Benfica in this transfer window as the forward seeks regular senior minutes.
