According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds United centre-back Jaka Bijol has been selected to start for Slovenia on Sunday, giving him a further opportunity to extend his strong run of form.
The imposing defender joined from Udinese last summer and grew into his debut campaign, starting United’s last nine games and completing the full match in seven.
He was named in head coach Bostjan Cesar’s squad for June’s two friendlies and played every minute of Thursday’s 1-1 draw at home to Cyprus.
Slovenia’s second June fixture brings an away meeting with Croatia, a 7.45pm kick-off at Stadion Anđelko Herjavec in Varazdin.
The contest provides a final look at England’s first World Cup opponents before the Three Lions open against Croatia, and offers Bijol another platform to impress.
