Jake Evans signs new Leicester deal and joins Cheltenham on season-long loan | OneFootball

LeicesterMercury.co.uk reports that Jake Evans has signed a new three-year contract with Leicester City and will spend the 2026/27 season on loan at League Two side Cheltenham Town.

The forward, a Leicester player since Under-9s level, made his Premier League debut against Brighton & Hove Albion in April 2025, then added three further top-flight appearances before joining Northampton Town for the second half of last season.

He scored twice in League One as the Cobblers were relegated. Evans featured regularly under Russell Martin in pre-season but did not make the squad for Saturday's 1-0 Carabao Cup win over Northampton.

At Whaddon Road he will link up with fellow academy youngster Kirsten Otchere.

Evans said he was over the moon to join, having spoken with the manager a few times and feeling excited and ready. After a taste of senior football he wants more, and he pledged to give his all for the club and its supporters.

The new contract is a significant boost for Leicester, with Evans further committing after signing his first professional deal in October. Cheltenham begin their League Two campaign on Saturday against Rotherham United, and the striker will be in contention to make his debut for the Robins.
