Jamaal Lascelles signs for Leicester City until the end of the season | OneFootball

Leicester City have completed the permanent signing of defender Jamaal Lascelles from Newcastle United.

Lascelles links up with the Foxes are a lengthy spell with Newcastle with his former club describing him as one of the 'great leaders of the club's recent history' in a statement.

The 32-year-old's career has been derailed since suffering a crucial ligament injury towards the end of the 2023/24 season leading to him missing the entirety of last season with the player making two appearances for the Newcastle first team this term.

"I’m buzzing to get through the door," Lascelles said after signing a short-term deal with Leicester. 

"It’s a great setup here, huge support, the facilities are fantastic. I just can’t wait to help out as much as I can, try to push us up the league and meet the boys tomorrow."

In total, Lascelles played 253 games for the Magpies, chipping in with 16 goals from defence.
