After successfully undergoing surgery, Bundesliga star Jamal Musiala has issued his first public statement since incurring a horrific injury in a Club World Cup fixture last Saturday. Musiala issued thanks to all those sending condolences.
Rather significantly, Musiala distanced himself from statements made by Bayern Munich professionals suggesting that PSG keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma crossed the line with the tackle that broke his fibula and dislocated his ankle.
“The operation went very well I’m in good hands,” the 22-year-old international reported on a video released on his instagram channel. “I want to emphasize that no one is to blame. Things like this happen.
“I would like to thank you all for the amazing support I have received, it means a lot to me,” Musiala also noted. “It’s nice to see how the football world comes together at a time like this. I really appreciate that.
“I will use the next few months to regain strength and optimism,” Musiala concluded. “I’m looking forward to seeing everyone again.”
