A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has revealed that Jamal Musiala’s recent injury could complicate things for Barcelona in the transfer market.

It is to be noted that Musiala suffered a broken ankle during Bayern Munich’s match against Paris Saint-Germain at the Club World Cup. He is expected to be out for four to five months, leaving Bayern without one of their most creative players.

Because of this injury, Bayern Munich are now expected to step up their search for a replacement. Two of the main names on their radar are Luis Diaz and Marcus Rashford — the same players Barcelona have been chasing to fill their left-wing position.

After Nico Williams rejected Barça’s offer, the club shifted its full focus back to Diaz as their top target and see Rashford as their plan B. Both players have made it clear they want to join Barcelona and are ready to do what it takes.

Interestingly, Bayern’s entry into the race could create a big problem for Barcelona. The German giants were already competing with Barça for Nico Williams, and they have the financial strength to outbid the Catalan club.

Barcelona’s advantage, though, is that both Diaz and Rashford prefer to join them. In fact, the Liverpool forward turned down huge offers from Saudi Arabia because he wants to play at Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, Rashford, who seems to have no future at Manchester United, is even willing to take a pay cut to wear the Barcelona shirt.

While Barça will continue normal talks with the players’ clubs, Bayern’s sudden interest means the Blaugrana must move quickly if they want to secure either player.

Time is running out, and with Bayern desperate to replace Musiala, Barcelona will need to act fast to make sure they don’t lose out on their key targets.
