Jamaldeen Jimoh-Aloba has played only five times for Aston Villa, yet his impact on their Europa League campaign has been significant.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, footage has emerged online of the youngster being held aloft by Villa fans ahead of the final, with supporters chanting that he was one of their own.
Villa signed the attacking midfielder from West Brom for £1m at 16, and he made his Premier League debut in December before spending the second half of the season on loan with the Baggies in the Championship.
Before that switch, he came off the bench in January to score in Villa’s 3-2 win over Red Bull Salzburg, a result that secured second place in the Europa League league phase.
Many Villa fans credit Jimoh-Aloba with a notable contribution to the European run, even though he may not be in Unai Emery’s squad in Türkiye for Wednesday night’s final in Istanbul.
