James Milner says coaching could be part of his future after becoming the Premier League’s all-time appearance-maker.
The 40-year-old moved past Gareth Barry on Saturday with his 654th top-flight outing. His 24-year career began with a Leeds debut at 16 in November 2002.
"I've done my badges and things like that. Some days I think it's a really good idea, other days you see people getting a new contract and managers getting sacked six weeks later. That doesn't look too appealing."
He was speaking to talkSPORT.
"Jurgen Klopp always said to me that whenever you finish, it's important you have a rest when you've been 100 miles an hour for as long as I have. So I think whenever that happens, that will be the first port of call and we'll see where we go from there."
Milner will look to extend his lead with 11 league matches left. Brighton’s trip to Elland Road is Leeds’ final home game of the season.
Neither side are safe yet. Leeds are three places and six points above 18th-placed West Ham. Brighton halted a run of one win in 13 last weekend and sit 14th, three points above Leeds.
