Chelsea will face off against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light this Sunday as they look to secure a positive result on the road in the Premier League. The Blues managed to earn an impressive 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur recently, which should give them some confidence going into this game.

The West London giants will set themselves up in a 4-2-3-1 formation for this clash. However, Chelsea are sweating on the fitness of a few of their first-team starters as Malo Gusto, Levi Colwill and Joao Pedro are all doubts going into this game.

Defence

Robert Sanchez will operate in between the sticks for the Blues after conceding one goal in his last outing. Wesley Fofana will function alongside Levi Colwill at the centre of the Chelsea backline as they focus on keeping a solid shape at the back during the game.

Malo Gusto will fill in as the right-back if he can recover in time for this clash, while Marc Cucurella looks to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Josh Acheampong and Jorrel Hato will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Moises Caicedo and Reece James will anchor the midfield for the Blues as they look to win the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park and orchestrate some decent chances in the final third.

The gifted trio of Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez and Cole Palmer will operate just ahead of them as part of the Chelsea attack. All three of them need to combine well if the Blues are to earn a positive result at the Stadium of Light this weekend.

Andrey Santos and Dario Essugo will make up the numbers on the bench as they await their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Joao Pedro will spearhead Chelsea’s attack up top. He would be eager to make a difference for the Blues on the offensive end of the field.

Liam Delap will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if needed.
