James Rodriguez leaves Minnesota United after only six months | OneFootball

James Rodriguez has left Minnesota United only six months after arriving, the club said in a statement on Tuesday night. The 35-year-old Colombia midfielder is now a free agent.

An option to extend his deal until December was available but the club did not activate it. Since January he featured in only eight matches for the Minneapolis side.

Rodriguez has 127 caps and 34 goals for Colombia. His next move would mark the 14th club of his professional career.

He contributed to Colombia’s run to the 2026 World Cup last 16. Even so, his club career has stuttered in recent years.

He has not stayed at any club for more than a single season since his Bayern Munich spell between 2017 and 2019. Since then he has moved through eight clubs in seven seasons.
