The striker made the move to Italian side Cremonese, where he has been a regular presence in the team in their battle against relegation.

The 39-year-old will be hoping to keep the team in the top flight as he enjoys the final stages of his playing career.

During his time at the King Power Stadium, he earned promotion from the Championship twice, won the FA Cup and the Premier League, while also securing the player of the year award as part of their title triumph.

Vardy also won the Premier League golden boot in 2019/20, and he was selected as part of the England squad for Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup off the back of his performances for Leicester.

Here we use estimated figures from Capology to see how much the striker is now earning while he plays in Italy…

Jamie Vardy’s Cremonese wages

Vardy signed a one-year deal with Cremonese when he joined the club last summer, with the option for another year also included in the deal.

The forward ended a 13-year stint with Leicester, having joined the Foxes in 2012 after a season at Fleetwood Town.

The 39-year-old scored nine goals and provided four assists in his final league campaign with the club, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the team from suffering relegation to the Championship.

Vardy agreed a contract with the Serie A team following his exit from Leicester, and it is worth £30,710 per week.

The former England international is not quite the best paid player at the club, with that honour instead going to Antonio Sanabria.

The Paraguayan earns £49,136-a-week from Cremonese, while there are four players in the squad with a salary of £30,710 per week.

The other three members of the squad earning the same wages as Vardy are Federico Baschirotto, Sebastiano Luperto and Federico Bonazzoli.

Jamie Vardy’s Sheffield United dig

Vardy hasn’t forgotten about English football now that he’s off playing in Italy.

The forward may have spent the majority of his career playing for Leicester, but he grew up a Sheffield Wednesday fan and he’s maintained that support all these years later.

The 39-year-old reminded Sheffield United fans of that fact earlier this week when he responded to a question regarding his favourite team to celebrate against when he scored.

He replied, via Leicester fan jack_pridmore on TikTok: “Sheffield United away.

“Yeah, Sheffield boy, aren't I? Had to be done, had to be done."

Vardy’s last game against Sheffield United came for Leicester on 14 March 2021 in the Premier League.

He provided two assists in an emphatic 5-0 victory over the Blades, while he also scored a 90th minute winner earlier in that campaign at Bramall Lane.

Oli McBurnie had pulled one back for Chris Wilder’s side in the 26th minute after Ayoze Perez’s opener just a few moments before.

But Vardy stepped up in the final minutes to seal all three points to ensure the Yorkshire outfit had just one point from their opening 11 league matches.

However, if he wants to score one last time against Sheffield United, then he will surely have to make one last stop in English football before retiring from football.
