Groningen and Go Ahead Eagles drew 0-0 at Euroborg, a result that lifts Groningen from 10th to ninth in the Eredivisie, while the visitors stay 11th.

In the 10th minute, Marco Rente thumped a header against the right post from Younes Taha's cross after a corner.

Jari de Busser made five saves, notably twice denying David van der Werff and later Travis Hernes, as the Supereagles held firm. Etienne Vaessen produced two stops of his own, pushing away efforts from Mathis Suray.

After Travis Hernes replaced Younes Taha (52.), Groningen kept pushing, with Hernes' shot saved from the centre (63.) and Thom van Bergen's header parried (67.). Finn Stokkers later steered a header wide for the Supereagles (74.).

Play paused when Julius Dirksen needed treatment (77.) before going off (80.). The visitors then threatened in the fourth minute of second half stoppage time, Stokkers heading wide from Melle Meulensteen's cross.

Groningen registered 24 attempts, five on target, and eight corners. The Supereagles recorded 10 attempts with two on target and five corners.
