According to Superdeporte, Getafe’s January business is on hold, with Javier Tebas yet to approve club accounts linked to the summer sale of Uche to Crystal Palace. Without LaLiga’s sign-off, incoming deals remain blocked ahead of Valencia’s visit to the Coliseum on Sunday at 14:00.

José Bordalás wants at least three additions, two of them attackers. For weeks, the signing of Chimy Ávila has been treated as a done deal, with Nteka the alternative. Ávila hit a cup brace to send Betis into the quarter-finals.

Talks are also under way for River Plate centre-back Sebastián Boselli. Getafe are exploring a loan for Ilias Akhomach from Villarreal. All moves depend on LaLiga approval.

After the match in Vallecas, the Alicante-born coach said reinforcements were needed urgently, not one or two but many. Time is tight.

Valencia have already moved, bringing in Umar Sadiq to fill a long-standing need up front. Their focus now is at centre-back to cover Diakhaby, ideally someone who could also play right-back to offset the absence of Thierry. If the paperwork does not clear, Bordalás will have to lean on what he has.
