Former Albion captain Jed Wallace has joined Championship rivals Bristol City on a two-year contract at Ashton Gate, according to ExpressAndStar.com.

The 32-year-old left The Hawthorns when his contract ended after four years with the Baggies, during which he made more than 140 appearances.

Wallace said he is proud and excited to be at City, believes there is a big opportunity to achieve something this season, and hopes to support the existing leaders in the squad.

He added that there will be ups and downs, so experience in the dressing room will be vital, and he is eager to get on the pitch and meet the fans.

Robins manager Michael Skubala said they know what a brilliant player Wallace is and that adding someone with extensive experience at the level is extremely positive.

Sporting director James Ellis said their plan includes balancing a youthful group with players who understand what it takes in the Championship, and that Wallace brings that in abundance.
