Jeremie Frimpong was forced off injured for the Netherlands in their 1-1 friendly draw with Ecuador, one week before Liverpool face PSG in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.
The 25-year-old came on at half-time on Tuesday and lasted 12 minutes before being replaced by Jan Paul van Hecke. Head coach Ronald Koeman confirmed a physical problem after the game, without detailing its nature.
The setback leaves his involvement next Wednesday at 21:00 in doubt.
Since joining the Reds last summer, he has played 24 matches, including 7 in the Champions League. He has already had several injuries this season.
Liverpool cannot call on Conor Bradley either, the Northern Ireland defender sustained an anterior cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee in January.
