Jermain Defoe leaves Woking after six competitive games | OneFootball

Jermain Defoe has left his role as Woking manager after only six competitive matches.

The fifth-tier club said in a statement on Thursday that the former striker and Woking had agreed to part company.

Defoe took charge in late March and, across four months interrupted by the summer break, oversaw six official games, winning two and losing one.

Aged 43, the ex-Tottenham forward and former England international with 57 caps had only recently moved into coaching after a 22-year playing career.

He did not stay long in the town south-west of London. No further details were disclosed.
