Jesse Lingard, 33, has joined Corinthians on a deal to the end of 2026, with a possible automatic extension to 2027 if targets are met, and will wear 77. The club said in a statement that he arrives as a free agent after leaving FC Seoul.

He landed in São Paulo on Sunday, completed medicals on Monday and stepped onto the grass at CT Dr. Joaquim Grava on Thursday. He is the club’s seventh signing of 2026.

A Manchester United academy graduate and 2011 FA Youth Cup winner, Lingard honed his game on loans with Leicester, Birmingham, Brighton and Derby, scoring four on his Birmingham debut. Promoted in 2014, a knee injury delayed progress until 2015/16, when he struck the FA Cup final winner.

He posted 42 appearances in 2016/17 and starred under José Mourinho in 2017/18 with 13 goals and seven assists, earning a 2018 World Cup spot and scoring against Panama as England finished fourth. A dip followed, then a transformative West Ham loan in 2021 delivered nine goals and four assists in 16 games, before a subdued 2022/23 at Nottingham Forest.

After six months without a club, he joined FC Seoul in February 2024, overcame early fitness issues and knee surgery to become captain, and produced 19 goals and 11 assists in 67 matches across 2024 and 2025 before departing in December. Corinthians are awaiting CBF BID registration, and he has not played since December 2025, so a reconditioning period will follow.
