Jhonson to debut number nine as Corinthians face Red Bull Bragantino | OneFootball

Jhonson will wear number nine for the first time for Corinthians when they face Red Bull Bragantino in the Paulistão Feminino on Thursday. According to Meu Timao, the 20-year-old forward starts at Benito Agnelo Castellano.

Her switch comes alongside the debut of the new home shirt, launched last week, which the women's team will wear for the first time. The men's side have so far only unveiled the second kit.

Jhonson last turned out in 40 on Monday, a 2-1 win over São Paulo in the Brasileirão.

Number nine had been vacant since late January, when Andressa Alves moved to shirt eight. Before that, striker Jheniffer held it until her departure in December 2024. The number is already offered as a personalisation option on replica shirts.

After a meteoric rise in 2025, Jhonson has seen reduced minutes under Emily Lima. She was left out of the squad for the Teal Rising Cup in the United States during April's FIFA window.

Thursday's selection marks only her fourth start of 2026. She has 12 appearances and three goals.

Corinthians are seeking a response in the state competition after opening with defeat, losing their Paulistão Feminino opener to São Paulo 2-1.
