Manchester United academy starlet JJ Gabriel continues to prove himself at youth level, and he could soon be playing regularly for the Red Devils’ first-team if he keeps improving at this rate.
The Man United under-18s took on their Nottingham Forest counterparts in the under-18 Premier League and were 5-1 up as at the time of filing this report.
Gabriel had bagged a brace to continue his scoring run, and his second goal is already going viral on social media.
The 15-year-old opened his account for the day from around 25 yards out, scooping an awkward-looking shot which dipped in to hit the underside of the crossbar.
His second was even more incredible and Man United manager Michael Carrick could be tempted to invite the teenage sensation to train with his team.
The youngster beat two defenders with a piece of skill before firing directly into the top corner from around 30 yards out.
It is clear to see why Gabriel became the youngest player to ever feature for Man United’s under-18s last April.
Plenty of European clubs are keeping tabs on him and Man United are desperate to hold on to him.
His family informed the Old Trafford club at the start of last summer that they were planning to move on, thanking people at the club for all they had done.
However, the Red Devils organised an emergency meeting in June, the day after Gabriel returned from holiday, and were able to change his mind.
Manchester City were among the teams seriously interested in signing him last summer, with Barcelona also known admirers.
Man United are pursuing a Champions League spot next term and may not have the luxury of giving Gabriel his Premier League debut this term given how fierce the battle for European football has been this season.
