Joan Capdevila asks Trump for help after US denies entry for New York final | OneFootball

World Cup winner Joan Capdevila has taken to social media after being refused permission to enter the United States for Sunday’s Spain v Argentina final in New York.

The former left-back said in a post on X that his ESTA had been denied, preventing him from travelling with his children.

He had accepted a Spanish Football Federation invitation extended to members of the 2010 World Cup-winning squad. Capdevila was Vicente del Bosque’s first-choice left-back in South Africa.

He asked whether anyone could assist, saying he had hoped to reunite with his 2010 team-mates and back the current side.

He also requested advice on a solution and opened his message with a direct appeal to Donald Trump.
