The FC Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia reached a major career milestone on Tuesday night as he made his debut with the Spanish national team in the friendly game against Egypt.

There is no doubt that this must have been an unforgettable moment for the Spaniard, and the fans applauded him during this game. However, he also faced some boos during the match.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, he also talked to the media after the game, and was asked about these boos, to which he replied:

Incidentally, Garcia made his debut in the same RCDE Stadium where he made his name with Espanyol. However, he downplayed the importance of this fact:

“A coincidence, a curious fact. Honestly, I would have been thrilled to debut at any stadium in the world.”

The goalkeeper made it clear that he did not feel nervous in this game:

“I was so excited that everything else was secondary, although I would have liked us to win.”

He also thanked the fans who supported him in this moment:

“I’m very grateful to those who supported and applauded me.”
