Joao Felix says he has no regrets over leaving Chelsea for Al-Nassr, crediting a return to his natural role for his resurgence. According to Goal.com, the Portugal forward views the switch as essential for his happiness and career.

Since moving in July 2025, he has scored 15 goals and supplied 12 assists in 26 league matches. Across two Chelsea spells, one loan and one permanent, he managed 11 goals in 40 games and was a Conference League winner but often on the fringes. The switch to Riyadh followed a short loan at AC Milan.

He praised Chelsea but argued that leaving London was necessary to secure regular minutes. He felt his creativity was curtailed at Chelsea and Atletico Madrid when used wide or as an isolated striker rather than centrally.

Felix says he is happy at Al-Nassr, is playing regularly in his Benfica role, and feels the system suits him. He believes confidence has returned with consistent minutes.

He also pointed to the influence of Portuguese manager Jorge Jesus and the chance to link up with Cristiano Ronaldo at club level, noting that the coach’s tactical demands have helped him.

Al-Nassr lead the Saudi Pro League with 67 points from 26 matches, three points clear of Al-Hilal, before April tests against Al-Najma, Al-Akhdoud, Al-Ettifaq and Al-Ahli. May brings meetings with Al-Qadsiah, Al-Hilal, Al-Shabab and Damac, and Felix hopes to make Portugal’s World Cup squad.
