Joao Gomes left out as Wolves face Burnley, Angel Gomes starts amid Atletico talks | OneFootball

Wolves made one change for the final day as they faced Burnley, with Joao Gomes omitted from the squad. ExpressAndStar.com reports that his absence comes amid expectation of a summer move.

Rob Edwards kept faith with most of the side that drew with Fulham, bringing in Angel Gomes for J.Gomes in midfield.

The Brazilian is likely to join Atletico Madrid when the transfer window opens, with the clubs in ongoing negotiations over a deal.

Jean-Ricner Bellegarde was also absent, and Edwards named a bench featuring two youngsters and four full-backs. Academy defender Ethan Sutherland was included alongside 16-year-old midfielder Jerome Abbey.

Abbey, a Thomas Telford School pupil, was first named among the substitutes in February against Bournemouth at Molineux.
