João Palhinha linked with return to Portugal | OneFootball

Tottenham Hotspur's on-loan midfielder João Palhinha is expected to leave Bayern Munich this summer with reports of a move back to Portugal.

The 30-year-old has spent this season on loan at Spurs after a season with Bayern, having played in 43 games for the North London side – chipping in with six goals and two assists.

Spurs do have the option of making the deal permanent for €30 million but reports from Portugal instead suggest a return to his former club.

According to A Bola, Palhinha would like to return to Portugal and his previous club Sporting with the only sticking point the deal between the two clubs which could either be a loan with an option to buy or an outright purchase.

Palhinha first arrived in England when he joined Fulham from Sporting in the summer of 2022, playing 79 games for the club in total and being named the Cottagers' Player of the Season in his firs year.
