“They were compact in the first half, we struggled a lot to find space between the lines,” the French full back explained.

“The second half was much better, we found our players easier and that made it easier for us. It’s a long time since I came here, it was our plan to put players in the box and we did that today. Three points were really important for us before the international break because we’re here for the top four.”

Also speaking to the media team was another one of the goalscorers, Joao Pedro, who fired home from an Estevao cutback:

“To play against a back five is always difficult but the key today was to put numbers in the box,” the Brazilian said.

“When we did that, we got chances. Estevao is a talent and when he comes on he always wants to show his ability – today he gave me an assist and we’re very happy for him because he’s adapted quickly. I’m on the pitch to hep them team but I’m happy to score because goals are important for my position and the most important thing was the three points.”
