Joao Pinheiro appointed to referee Bayern Munich v PSG Champions League semi-final second leg | OneFootball

UEFA confirmed on Monday that Portuguese referee Joao Pinheiro will take charge of Bayern Munich v PSG in the Champions League semi-final second leg on Wednesday at 21:00, after a 4-5 first leg.

Pinheiro, 38, will be overseeing his seventh Champions League match of the season.

It is his first PSG assignment since he officiated the UEFA Super Cup final on 18 August, which Paris won against Tottenham, 2-2 after extra time, 4-3 on penalties.

He has previously refereed two Bayern victories in the competition, against Slovan Bratislava last season, 3-1, and PSV Eindhoven on 28 January, 2-1.

This season he has also taken charge of two other French clubs in Europe, Strasbourg in the Europa Conference League quarter-final second leg against Mainz, 4-0, and Marseille in the Champions League league phase against Union Saint-Gilloise, 3-2.
