More than two years after his FC Nantes exit, Jocelyn Gourvennec is seeking two million euros in compensation over his 2024 dismissal for gross misconduct.
A fresh labour-court hearing was held on Tuesday before a professional judge after no agreement at the first hearing. According to Ouest-France, Gourvennec and three former club employees are seeking damages following their March 2024 dismissals.
Nantes ended their fixed-term contracts on grounds of gross misconduct, pointing to the team’s disastrous results. Gourvennec’s defence argues that this procedure is not lawful.
The case adds to a difficult period for the Canaris, who have been relegated to Ligue 2. The club must trim the squad and steady finances as they target a quick return to the top flight.
Gourvennec managed Nantes from November 2023 to March 2024. He is now in charge of Servette in Switzerland.
