You better believe it when I say the majority of plugged-in Leicester supporters will be delighted with this update. They'll also probably want to thank their favourite Foxes player, Jamie Vardy, when all is said and done. That's if we believe allegations on Tuesday afternoon about unwanted LCFC director of football Jon Rudkin.
The first signs that the previously immune Rudkin is being eased out at King Power Stadium have now emerged. One rumour states that the strangely powerful and unnecessarily mysterious man behind the scenes may be relived of duty soon. The report actually declares the 57-year-old is in fact finally "being squeezed out" of Leicester City Football Club.
But why does the Foxes' Blue Army fan base wish for Rudkin's demise? Is the DoF actually incapable after overseeing the best period in City's history? Why was he seen as an immortal man at King Power Stadium? And, lastly of all and most importantly, is he indeed likely to leave at this point or at the end of this calamitous campaign?
Just to begin. This isn't a character assassination of Rudkin. He seems a retiring and private man. So this is not personal - just Leicester business! Though, ultimately, fresh blood is required on Filbert Way.
In spite of Rudkin being the favoured Englishman of the Srivaddhanaprabha family (our owners), his time is up. I am aware that while the former held a comparable position when we won the Premier League and FA Cup, etcetera. However, that era is now sadly over. Rudkin's recent EPL record is unsatisfactory.
You've possibly seen the protests at LCFC in recent weeks. Well, Rudkin was a prime target of those. Nonetheless, it still felt as though he'd suffer the turbulence and somehow survive again. Although, maybe Khun Top Srivaddhanaprabha has also had enough at this point:
"Van Nistelrooy and Rudkin unhappy with Vardy’s power at LeicesterThe Foxes legend, 38, has the ear of Leicester owner Aiyawatt “Top” Srivaddhanaprabha and sources say he “listens to Vardy more than Van Nistelrooy”.The English veteran’s power is an issue for the Dutch boss as well as director of football Jon Rudkin, who is being squeezed out at the King Power Stadium."Football Insider Exclusive
