Jordan Henderson has made World Cup history for England after appearing against Panama on Saturday night.
The veteran midfielder came on as a second-half substitute as England beat Panama 2-0 to secure qualification to the Round of 32 as group winners. Jude Bellingham and Harry Kane scored the goals, with Henderson introduced in the 84th minute to help see out the game.
In the process, Henderson became the first player in history to have featured for the Three Lions at seven major tournaments, and the first to play at four World Cups.
Henderson first featured at a major tournament for England at the 2012 European Championship, and has since appeared for England at the 2014, 2018, 2022 and 2026 World Cups, alongside Euro 2016 and 2020.
Henderson’s seventh major tournament sees him surpass Sol Campbell, Wayne Rooney and Harry Kane, who have all made appearances in six tournaments for the Three Lions.
