Jordan Henderson retains his place in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for friendlies against Uruguay and Japan in the upcoming international break.
According to Hounslow Herald, the Brentford midfielder, 35, stays in a 35-man group that blends high-profile returns with fresh faces after he joined the Bees last summer.
Henderson offers senior ballast as Tuchel fine-tunes plans for the 2026 World Cup. Harry Maguire is back in defence alongside AC Milan’s Fikayo Tomori after missing the previous camp.
Out wide, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon return, while Tottenham striker Dominic Solanke and Arsenal winger Noni Madueke are recognised for domestic form, as is Leeds forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Newcastle’s resurgence under Eddie Howe is reflected with six St James’ Park players selected. Aaron Ramsdale, Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento are among those called up.
In midfield, Everton’s James Garner receives a first call-up in this cycle and Manchester United starlet Kobbie Mainoo returns, as Tuchel assesses partners for Arsenal’s Declan Rice.
The headline omissions include Real Madrid’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, with defensive solidity cited. Ollie Watkins, Kane’s Euro 2024 deputy who scored the semi-final winner, has dipped in form. Danny Welbeck misses out despite 10 league goals, while Alex Scott drops out for Garner.
