Jorginho out as Flamengo face Sampaio Corrêa in Carioca clash | OneFootball

Jorginho will miss Flamengo’s meeting with Sampaio Corrêa in the Campeonato Carioca on Saturday, ruled out by a left hamstring injury as they chase a knockout berth.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the number 21 also sat out the previous match, against Internacional, through suspension.

Flamengo will also be without Saúl, still recovering from surgery on his left ankle, and Luiz Araújo, who has pain in his right thigh.

Flamengo have four points, level on goal difference with bottom side Maricá, and are looking to steer clear of the relegation quadrangular.

They are outside the qualification places and need to beat Sampaio Corrêa, while hoping Madureira, Boavista or Nova Iguaçu slip.

A draw could be enough only if Nova Iguaçu lose to Portuguesa by five goals or more.
