José Mourinho could soon receive a surprise boost at Benfica, with Bruma edging towards a return after roughly six months out.

According to Glorioso 1904, the Portugal international has begun pitch work and was seen with the squad as they prepared for the Taça de Portugal tie against Porto.

The development is timely amid injuries in Mourinho’s squad, but Bruma is not yet under consideration, with significant fitness work still ahead.

He is not in the plans for the Porto match, though he could come into contention late in January or alternatively by mid February, when Dodi Lukébakio is also expected to be cleared to play.

Signed in the winter window of 2024, Bruma is valued at five million euros and has made 14 competitive appearances, scoring once and providing two assists.
