Josh Maja returns to Ligue 1 and joins Le Havre on one-year deal | OneFootball

Le Havre have signed out-of-contract striker Josh Maja. The Nigeria international returns to Ligue 1 on a one-year deal with an optional extra year.

As reported by L'Équipe, the 27-year-old becomes Le Havre’s new number nine after agreeing terms on Friday 31 July.

Maja spent the past three seasons in his country of birth, England, with West Bromwich Albion. Last season he played 41 matches, starting 17, and recorded six goals and one assist across the Championship and the FA Cup.

He is capped once by Nigeria and arrives to bolster Didier Digard’s squad. The forward is Le Havre’s seventh signing of the summer window.

Le Havre begin their Ligue 1 campaign on 23 August, when they host Monaco at the Stade Océane.
