Joshua Zirkzee is determined to fight for his future at Manchester United, a report has claimed, despite growing interest in his services from Serie A.
United paid £36.5m to sign Zirkzee from Bologna during the summer but the Dutch international has struggled for both minutes and form. He has netted four times in 27 appearances and was recently booed by his own fans as he was substituted midway through the first half of United's defeat to Newcastle.
He has long been tipped to return to Serie A, with reports even claiming United were keen to cut ties with Zirkzee. However, the Daily Mail state Zirkzee has no desire to call time on his Old Trafford tenure just yet.
Zirkzee is said to be keen to play a role in United's resurgence and is not currently entertaining a return to Serie A, where he made his name with Bologna last season.
After dazzling for Thiago Motta's side last year, Zirkzee's stock remains high in Italy and both Napoli and Juventus are said to be chasing a January move for the 23-year-old. Juve, who are now led by Motta, were also keen during the summer when Zirkzee ultimately opted to join United.
Head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed United will not be able to sign new players this month without selling some first, but they may have to find an alternative source of income if Zirkzee is not prepared to move on.
