Jota Silva is close to leaving Nottingham Forest, with a switch to Olympiacos advancing. According to Nottingham Post, the winger is travelling to Amsterdam, where Olympiacos were holding their pre-season camp, for medical tests.
Silva spent last season on loan at Besiktas after a deadline-day move to Sporting CP collapsed because of an administrative error. He scored five goals and provided one assist in 22 games in Türkiye.
The 26-year-old would be joining another club owned by Evangelos Marinakis. The move had been described as in its final stages, with only formalities left.
He is understood to have given the green light to Forest, having expressed a desire to work with head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar. It remains unclear whether the switch will be permanent or a loan.
If confirmed, he will join defender David Carmo at the Greek side. Last month Silva suggested Vitor Pereira’s presence could have opened the door to another Premier League chance and praised his role in keeping Forest up. Pereira has since been replaced by Oliver Glasner.
